Helen Farrelly

I have been an active committee member of the IDNA since 1996 and have held various IDNA Executive Committee roles including Continuing Education Officer, Membership Secretary and Executive Committee Member.

I was initially appointed Secretary at the AGM in May 2015 and this year was appointed President Elect.

From November 2006 to December 2011, I was the dental nursing representative on the Dental Council Auxiliaries Dental Worker Committee acting as an advocate for the dental nursing profession ensuring that dental nurses had key representation at Dental Council matters.

I have over 20 years experience in the dental healthcare profession having starting my career as a Dental Nurse in general Dental Practice. I have over 15 years experience as an instructor for the Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certificate with Irish Heart Foundation.

I am currently the Course Director for the Diploma in Dental Nursing programme in School of Dental Science Trinity College Dublin, and the CPR site coordinator for the Dublin Dental University Hospital responsible for coordinating all staff, undergraduate and postgraduate student CPR training.
